Hotel accommodations are no different from any other product- you get what you pay for. It's true. Instead of being a tangible product, hotel accommodations are a combination of a tangible product (room and its contents) and an intangible product (the experience). Most of us prefer to have comfortable lodging arrangements when traveling, so we search and search for the best deal on the best hotel rooms available within our budgets.
Choosing the best hotel in an unfamiliar city can prove to be a challenging task. However, with the help of the Internet and insightful reviews from other travelers who take part in online communities such as www.tripadvisor.com, we are able to make informed decisions about potential lodging facilities.
I can't think of any better way to gather necessary information about hotels than by reading the reviews of other guests who have stayed there previously. Traveler reviews afford us the opportunity of hearing the positive and negative aspects of the hotel experiences of other real people who share their firsthand knowledge of hotels they've visited. Long gone are the days when we had to blindly choose a hotel and simply hope for the best. If I'm checking into a ratty hotel, at least I'd like to know beforehand so I can prepare myself mentally for the experience. However, in the hotel industry, the mist important factor in guest satisfaction is expectations. If a guest is expecting a luxurious accommodation with top notch facilities and full-service amenities and he receives the opposite, he will be is disappointed. But, if he knows from the start that he is headed to a ratty hotel, then he will not be disappointed when there is no bellman to assist with his luggage. My advice- set your expectations equal to your budget and you will not be disappointed.
Happy travels!

Preparing for a Vacation
A sense of excitement and adventure overcomes us at the thought of taking an exotic vacation and getting away from the hustle and bustle (and perhaps monotony) of everyday life. However, anyone who has adventured beyond the front door can tell you that a decent trip anywhere will require some planning.
Just how much planning? Well, that depends on your circumstances. If you're not up for much planning, you may want to hire a travel agent to help you plan your next vacation. Sure, the surge in online discount travel distributors has made booking your own trips easier and less expensive then ever before. However, there are large numbers of people who still prefer to have a go-to travel agent who can do all the work for them. Only you can decide which option best fits your travel needs.
Before you book any tickets, here are a few good questions to ask yourself when thinking about taking a vacation:
Where would you like to go?
What is the primary purpose of your vacation?
Will you need a passport?
What is your budget?
How much time do you have to spend?
What climate type do you prefer?
What type of vacation would you like to take?
Are you traveling with kids?
Do you have appropriate luggage?
Is this a romantic vacation?
What mode of transportation do you prefer?
If you have a pet, who will care for your pet while you are away?
